Air Conditioner Maintenance
A well-maintained air conditioner cools faster, uses less energy and lasts twice as long. We get it ready before the heat wave, not during.
Why Annual Maintenance?
A central air conditioner draws its efficiency from clean coils and free airflow. After a winter under snow and months of inactivity, the outdoor condenser is full of debris, filters are clogged and the condensate drain may be blocked. The unit trips its safety mode, cools poorly and needlessly stresses the compressor.
Spring is the perfect time for maintenance: you start the warm season with a ready unit, and avoid breakdowns in the middle of July.
Signs You Need Service
- The unit struggles to maintain the set temperature
- Unusual noises at startup or during operation
- Rising summer electricity bills
- Water dripping indoors (blocked drain)
- Air coming out less cold than before
- Odours (damp, musty) at startup
- No maintenance in over a year
Our Method
Full Inspection
Checking pressures, temperatures, voltages and overall unit condition.
Outdoor Condenser
Debris removal, fin cleaning with water and specialized product, motor and blade inspection.
Indoor Evaporator
Coil cleaning, filters washed or replaced, condensation pan cleared.
Drain & Plumbing
Drain unclogged and rinsed, flow test, disinfection to prevent future clogs.
Test & Calibration
Startup, upstream/downstream temperature measurements, full cycle validation. Report handed over in person.
Types of Air Conditioners
- Central air conditioner (with furnace) — single-family homes
- Wall-mounted mini-split — condos and ductless homes
- Multi-zone — one outdoor unit, multiple heads
- Combined heat pump + cooling systems
Frequently Asked Questions
Ideally in spring, between April and June. This avoids breakdowns during heat waves and extends the unit's life.
The procedures are very similar. If your unit is a central heat pump that cools in summer, it's the same service.
About 1h to 1h30 for a standard residential system.
